Course story

The brief given to A.W. Tillinghast in the early 1920s was for a man-sized golf course, and he built two. The West is the one that hosts championships. The greens are small, severely pitched and surrounded by bunkers deep enough to hide a player, so missing in the wrong place leaves a recovery that is close to impossible. Winged Foot is where Hale Irwin won a US Open at seven over par and where the 2020 championship exposed professionals who had not missed a fairway all season. The 10th, a par 3 Hogan once described as a 3 iron into somebody's bedroom, is the hole most often painted.

Every print is made to order. Allow 2 to 5 business days for printing and framing, then 3 to 6 business days in transit. Larger sizes are packed in a rigid box and can take a little longer.

Returns
If a print arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, email us within 30 days with a photograph and we will replace it at no cost.
